I’m glad you all enjoyed March’s monthly challenge, and I hope you also appreciated my rather over-the-top April Fools Day challenge ;-). Now, with summer fast approaching, it’s time to kick things up a notch, and take action now so that we can bask in our radiance once summer arrives.
So, once again I’m going to provide challenges in various areas of your life – but this time you should try to do each of them starting right away, to get the full benefit.
Hydration – odds are you’re still somewhat dehydrated, which lowers your metabolic rate, and drains you of energy. Drink at least 1 cup (250ml) of water each morning before breakfast, and before lunch, and again before dinner. This is in addition to whatever you normally drink during the day.
Fitness – You’ve already been doing the mini-tabata workouts. I recommend keeping those going (and maybe ramp them up a bit to 4 sets of each exercise – it’s still only 8 minutes!), but this month, lets add some fresh air and cardio. You can choose what you want to do (go out for a walk after dinner, go for a bike-ride, do some trail-running, take a hula hoop to the park, try skipping…), but aim for half an hour, at least three times each week.
Nutrition – If you did last month’s challenge, then you’ve probably already increased your dietary fiber intake, a little. With Spring in the air, it’s a great time to start eating more fresh fruits and vegetables, and my suggestion is – replace your current breakfast with a Green Smoothie.
Skin care – once a week, pour a nice hot bath, with candles, and music, and lovely smelling bath salts, and take the opportunity to revitalize your skin with a healing facial mask. Try this one.
Celebrate the end of winter!
