Home Workouts

In this edition of the Natural Health and Wellness blog carnival, we will discuss various home workout ideas. Don’t have the time (or money) to go out to a gym for a regular workout? Home-based workouts can be a great alternative. Here are some fantastic ideas about how to add home-workouts to YOUR weekly routine.

Home Workout

Pairie Eco Thrifter offers a comprehensive home workout with Skip the Gym, Sweat at Home 2, saying “Just like saving money and investing in our financial future, we need to put that same effort into investing in our health. Eating well and being active are the keys to a long healthy life.”

Lertno's Training

Darren presents a selection of body-weight exercises you can do at home (my take – Tabata-cise them!), posted at Lertno’s Training, saying, “Bootcamp exercises aren’t only for boot camps. Everyone can even do these types of bodyweight exercises at home.”

Brandon provides some great recommendations for home workouts, posted at Fit Buff, saying, “It’s fine to say that you should use the gym for your exercise sessions. Unfortunately, most people aren’t exercising at all, let alone making the commute to the gym several times a week.”
Pure 2 Raw

Lori and Michelle offer a very cool looking home workout – starting with 100 reps of ‘high knees’ and continuing on from there, posted at Pure 2 Raw, saying, “Loved this 100 workout, it was a mix of heart pumping and arm/leg burning moves. We enjoyed the numbers going down as the workout moved from one exercise to the next, haha.”

Naturally Radiant

My own take on great, time-efficient home workouts, remains a 20 minute Tabata workout, posted at Naturally Radiant – it’s a whole body workout that will have every muscle in your body screaming for mercy, at least the first time you do it. I recommend starting with fewer reps and gradually working up to the full 8 sets of each exercise.

Meghann offers a quick no-equipment workout that can be done in your living room while watching your favorite show (she watched Felicity), posted at Meals and Miles, saying “I did something this morning I haven’t done in a while – I had a mini living room bootcamp. I used to do these all the time, but training took over my life and pushed most other forms of exercise out (except for swimming, cycling, and running, of course 😉 ). It felt great to just jump around for a while.”
How do You Lose Body Fat?
